Terms of Service

  • CHECK OUT TIME:  11:00 am. Late check out available upon request depending on next day reservations. See contact info below.

  • QUIET HOURS:  10:00 pm to 8:00 am. If you arrive or depart during quiet hours, please pretend the campground is filled with light-sleeping, hardened street fighters who just start scrapping when they are awoken. If someone is not respecting quiet hours, please call or text us.

  • OCCUPANCY

    • Tent/RV sites are limited to two (2) tents or one (1) tent and (1) RV/trailer and max of eight (8) occupants. Please register all occupants. Four (4) occupants are included in the base pricing. The fee for additional occupants is $5/guest per night.

    • Cozy cabins are limited to a max of 3 occupants. Please register all occupants. Two (2) occupants are included in the base pricing. The fee for additional occupants is $10/guest per night.

    • Escape cabins are limited to a max of 4 occupants. Please register all occupants. Two (2) occupants are included in the base pricing. The fee for additional occupants is $10/guest per night.

    • Camping reservations will not be issued to anyone under 18 years of age. Put another way, groups of campers under 18 years of age must have at least one (1) member over 18 years of age present.

    • Do not use another site other than the one assigned to you without permission. See contact info below.

  • VEHICLES

    • All vehicles must park at their assigned campsite or in designated parking areas. Do not block the road or prevent access to other campsites. Generally speaking, parking more than 1 vehicle per site is possible, but only if space allows. Additional vehicle parking is always available in the larger parking lot near the entrance to the campground.

    • RVs / Trailers that exceed the maximum length designated for each site may not fit in the site. Generally speaking, maximum specified lengths are conservative to account for vehicles towing trailers, but it is your responsibility to check the dimensions of the site to be sure your RV / Trailer can fit. Our website has a table showing what types and lengths of RVs each site can accommodate.

    • Drive slowly (10 mph max) within the campground.

  • VISITORS:  Visitors are allowed in the campground between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm.  All campers are responsible for their visitors. A maximum of 6 adults are allowed per site at any time.

  • DOGS:  We _love_ dogs. We accept all scruffy-duffy boys and girls (i.e. well-behaved dogs) regardless of breed. Dogs must be registered ($10/night per dog). They must be kept on a leash at all times and may not be left unattended. Unfortunately, dogs who bark too much are probably stressed out by the camping experience so we will have to ask their owners to help them calm down or take them back home. Please clean up after your dog(s).

  • The Desert of Maine is a tobacco-free campus. SMOKING (of any kind) or VAPING is not permitted anywhere on the premises.

  • ALCOHOL is permitted within your campsite for campers of legal age. Do not take alcohol outside your campsite. Please do not get out of control or you will be asked to leave.

  • CAMPFIRES are only permitted in the provided fire rings.  Do not leave fires unattended.  Do not move the fire rings.  Do not burn cans, glass, or trash. Firewood is available for purchase 24x7 (self-service, honor system) at the Camp Store near the bath house. To prevent the spread of harmful pests, firewood should not be brought from out of the area--in fact, it is illegal to bring firewood in from out of state.

  • FIREARMS AND FIREWORKS are prohibited on the premises.

  • WASTE DISPOSAL:  Please take your trash with you when you leave. You may use on-site trash cans or the trash and recycling dumpsters in the main parking lot. There is a dump station on the left side of the bath house.

  • DISHWASHING:  Use the utility sink in front of the bath house for washing dishes. Please remove food particles before washing dishes to prevent clogging the drain. Do not wash dishes in the bathrooms or at your camp site.

  • GENERATORS:  Generators are only permitted to be operated 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  Generator placement should be in a location that does not interfere with other campers. Generators or air conditioners creating excessive noise are not allowed. Generators shall not be left running unattended.
